Job Summary:
The Electrical Test Engineer will be responsible for conducting electrical testing, analysis, and troubleshooting activities for various electrical systems and equipment. The individual in this role will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and safety of electrical components and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform electrical testing and analysis on a wide range of electrical systems, including but not limited to power distribution systems, control panels, motors, generators, and switchgear.
2. Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and methodologies to ensure accurate and efficient testing processes.
3. Conduct routine and specialized electrical tests using a variety of testing equipment and tools, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
4. Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, defects, and malfunctions, and propose solutions to rectify them.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze test results, identify potential improvements, and implement corrective actions.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, results, and observations for future reference and compliance purposes.
7. Ensure adherence to relevant safety regulations, standards, and procedures while performing electrical testing activities.
8. Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to electrical testing techniques and equipment.
9. Assist in the selection and procurement of testing equipment and tools, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
10. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
11. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes, efficiency, and overall product quality.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Strong knowledge of electrical testing principles, methodologies, and procedures.
3. Proficiency in using various electrical testing equipment and tools.
4. Solid understanding of electrical systems, components, and their interdependencies.
5. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
6. Experience with troubleshooting electrical issues and conducting root cause analysis.
7. Familiarity with safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to electrical testing.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
10. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
11. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
12. Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and electrical simulation tools is a plus.
